Flexural and shear strengthening of reinforced concrete beams with a hybrid CFRP solution

Abstract An experimental program was carried out for assessing the performance of a hybrid solution composed by CFRP systems simultaneous flexural and shear strengthening RC beams. laminates, applied according to NSM technique, are used strengthening, while U-shape discrete strips wet lay-up sheet, EBR adopted strengthening. anchorage system at extremities these in an attempt avoiding their premature debonding. The results showed is very effective, not only terms increasing load carrying capacity beams, but also assuring higher mobilization tensile CFRP. configuration that included significantly than one assured other solutions were similar beams tested until failure using same test this program. predictive ACI formulations proposed estimating contribution resistance appraised considering obtained results.
